This would be a good time to go there and see what important updates are needed for your computer. There is a worm out called Lovsan (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.html) that creates a denial of service attack on Windows Update. If you have these ports: (TCP 135, TCP 4444, UDP 69) open and you are running Windows 2000 or Windows XP, then you could be affected.

I'm not sure how it works and what role the antivirus companies have, since it's a Windows security vulnerability. I guess that's why it's a worm and not a virus.

I went to Windows Update yesterday and got an update, but today the news about this worm is widespread and Windows Update is running really slow. Also, the worm affects the Windows Update site (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) by DOSing it. In fact I got an error when I tried to download a driver patch, as you can see with this attachment.

Poor Bill being humiliated once again. It's like the pie (http://www.bitstorm.org/gates/) is getting thrown in his face again.
