The site seems to be down. The site is run by Diego, an esteemed member of the community. What are we to do now that his vital site is down? Maybe he has a paypal account that we can donate to to help him bring it back online again? I last got official communication from him when a mass e-mail got sent out April 01 2003. I hope this doesn't mean that someone finally succeeded in hijacking his forum, as he ominously warned about in his e-mail here:
subject: Member Security
date: April 01, 2003

It has come to the attention of the forum administration a third party, with ulterior interests, being unsuccessful in an attempt to acquire the napsterites .org domain and forum, has secured a retired copy of the forum database from a leading member of the previous administration.

As such, we regret to inform you your personal details, including email address and password, have been compromised.

Further, we feel, due to this and other recent actions contrary to the membership by the previous administration, any information provided to a member of the previous administration should also be considered compromised and action should be taken to secure any accounts and services.

While there is no action we may take as regards any information you may have provided previous of the 9th of March, 2003, we suggest you use the following link to access your Member Control Panel and change your password at your earliest opportunity:

The forum administration regrets this action which has been taken contrary to registration agreements as well as the arrangements of the administrative transfer of The Real Underground.

Please accept our sincerest apologies in this matter and our continued thanks for your patronage.

If you're gloating over this I wonder what you'd do if gaz's creation went down for good. How much for a ticker tape parade down 5th Avenue? :p

He seems to have created alot of enduring bitterness, hostility, and resentment. Considering that this is just the internet that's quite an accomplishment!

For a 16 year old to say that a "grown adult" is immature is pretty sad....and definately something that shouldn't be taken lightly...

(that is towards Gaz, I like E's retaliation...makes the net more fun :D )

i don't have any of those things against gaz. if i did that would mean i feel anything for/about him and i don't. i know the facts of how that forum came to be and i know gaz's place in it. he did not create that 'community'

really it's irrelevant. one thing for sure in this world, what comes around goes around. we all got something coming. some more than others lol.

I never really bothered to learn the exact early details but HAVE managed to piece it all together. Gaz sent his trained guard kangaroos to intimidate Mehmet, boobless, Maze, and others and stole .net. Now you're waiting for the day when those rabid 'roos turn on him. He'll get his "just deserts" and they'll just get dessert.

say....i've always wonder'd...why no quick reply?

It's an option that is turned off on the board, that could be easily turned on in the admincp. The reason I left it off and diabled is because I was worried that having it on would degrade the quality of posts because it would be so easy to reply with one click rather than two. nicobie was right: I must be a bureaucrat and I think like a government worker, because I believe that inconveniencing people is a good thing.

Maybe Amazon should sue vBulletin and claim ownership of the quick reply button in their intellectual property portolio, in which they own one-click shopping (http://www.eff.org/patent/).
