well, it's that time again when the best 16 teams in Europe battle it out for footie supremecy...

A bad start in the choice match of the first round for England having lost to France 2-1 after leading going into injury time at the end of the match dammit... but the loss shouldn't be fatal.

round one consists of 4 groups of 4 playing in round robin format, the top 2 from each group progressing to the quarter finals, semi finals and then the final itself.

Group 1

Portugal
Greece
Spain
Russia

Group 2

France
England
Switzerland
Croatia

Group 3

Sweden
Bulgaria
Denmark
Italy

Group 4

Czech Republic
Latvia
Germany
Netherlands

In case anyone is interested (which i doubt), I will use this thread to keep u abreast of developments...

The teams to watch in my opinion are... France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands and England... but u can never rule out ze germans... and Sweden look quite tasty too.

If anyone cares u can check it out on these 2 sites...

No, it is the European Nations' Championship, it is held every 4 years and occurs equidistant between World Cups, which are also held every 4 years.

here (http://www.soccerphile.com/soccerphile/i_mode/ecw.html) are the previous winners... Czechoslovakia won it in 1976 defeating the great West German team of the early 70s, comprising mainly of the Bayern Munich team that won the European Champions' Cup three times from 1974 to 1976.

In Euro 2004 Ronaldo looks like number 17 here (http://www.euro2004.com/News/Kind=1/newsId=194551.html), and he plays for Portugal. The 18 year old wonder kid with the fastest step over in the west... incidentally he plays for Manchester United also, who are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen.

COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!!!
