Interesting that I also found the number to be listed for an "Olin Smith" at the same address. But there is also another Olin Smith in the same town:

Who's to say that when tim posts all of his personal info on the forum whether it really is his own info. I believe that none of it is true. I believe that the pictures of the fat dude he posted, claiming to be himself are not him either.
tim's only goal on this forum is to be the center of attention. He wants to either have one of his threads he started replied to last, or to be the last poster on the forum.
Ideally a forum would be moderated by peer pressure rather than through the tools of the staff. While we believe tim to be a glutton based on his supposed large weight, in fact we are gluttons ourselves in not being able to resist the urge to respond to his posts. Think of your temptation to react to him as the same as him trying to resist the urge to eat the box of doughnuts.
I myself have been guilty of reacting to tim when I should have just ignored him. Afterwards I feel that I will try harder not to react to him and have him push my buttons. I see it as an exercise in self restraint and self discipline. For those of you who prefer not to have to deal with all that, you can put any member here including those on the staff on your ignore list.
As time goes on tim will have to try harder to get reactions out of people. That means that he will become increasingly unreasonable in his behavior. For example, today he sent me a PM referring to this thread here:
I have to take this up with your webhoster..i will...please don't make me have to go that far..to get my personal information removed from your forum.
And maybe tomorrow he'll post my personal info in this thread in order to try to get a reaction out of the members here. It will go on and he will ratchet it up as people start tuning him out, so he will have to be even more outrageous in his behavior. If he sees you are not responding to him he will then play the charming role until you are softened up to him. So the cycle will repeat itself.
Now by moderating very little maybe a good number of people will be scared away on this forum, but at least we can say that we gave the people who got scared away a good lesson on how to fend and think for themselves, and we separated out the boys from the men. If nothing else then this board will serve as basic training and a learning experience for other sites. And don't the rest of you folks outside of this board forget that because we tolerate tim here, that we're doing you all a service because he is spending time here rather than somewhere else.
I've changed a couple of default options when people register so it would be harder to stalk them now. They are automatically "hidden", their email is "hidden", and personal messages (PMs) are disabled. Most people don't change their default settings, so that ought to do some good towards protecting naive members. What I recommend you do if anyone posts an unpleasant or questionable PM to you, is that you post it in the forum so everyone can see it and discuss. The scoundrels, stalkers, and liars on this board will resort to PMs because what they say will be put to shame under the light of day. It's your PM and you can do whatever you want to do with it.

What is it that sounded like Gaz? I see a similarity because I spoke of tim in the third person instead of addressing him directly. And maybe because I paint him as a man who is out to get us and is a bad guy and has no redeeming qualities, but that's just what I believe.

There's a global ignore feature in vBulletin also called "tachy goes to coventry". Here is a description of it:
This setting allows you to set certain users as being globally ignored. Their posts etc. are not seen by any users except themselves. This gives them the illusion that they are still functioning members of the forum when in reality nobody is seeing their posts.
