I have almost 12,000 mp3's, my rock is the most organized and I'm working on switching over to all 192 or higher (most rips now are). If you have any questions on the quality of a certain album, ask away. Also, albums are seperated from singles by a folder with the title of the album with the track number followed by the titled in the file name...

Enjoy :)

(btw, so I can't be legally fucked, this is for browsing purposes only, you are not allowed to obtain music from my server without paying royalities to the artist.... *cough*)

Nice. I had a download speed of 46 kbps. I myself only upload at 14 kbps with Earthlink ADSL.

I couldn't find any relaxing violin music there though.

I had to massively cut back on my collection because I was running out of hard drive space. I use to have more styles of music, but unfortunately I had to delete them :(... but as soon as I buy a 120 gig it will be back...

They have lots of new Classical music coming in every day in the newsgroups. You can max out your connection speed too. I'm allergic to that type of music but I can see how it could be construed as relaxing. ;)

Most ISP's have about 40,000 groups (there are a few free ones too). All you do is subscribe and download. There are endless movies, software, and music. Here are a few of the music groups.

He seems to be offline now. You should browse what I suggested instead. ;)

uh yeah, I did something again to my FTP to fuck it up... lol, I'll work on that later on...

and Nookie, I don't have a newsgroup channel, server, whatever they are called, mine is just an FTP, I recommend FlashFXP cuz the standard IE 6 one always says that there are too many users connected but that's not true...

Anywho...

I've always wondered how to actually download off from newsgroupds, I've been on them, browsed, but no clue how to actually download anything.... please help me!

Just choose what you want and download. I use Grabit but anything will do (except Outlook Express).

None of my friends seem to want to go. Looks like we'll be headed to the lake instead. And as far as connecting to beejus's FTP- if he ever gets back online-just put the info in the Site Manager (F4)

It's back up now, but only 1 user at a time... if you want to reserve a slot, let me know, I'll hook you up, or if you really need something quickly, let me know and I'll get to it as soon as I can

People who are running servers on their computers have dynamic IP addresses which change every so often. So if you want to connect to their servers, then you would have to know the new address every time it changes. An easy solution to that is to subscribe to a dynamic dns service service, such as servemp3.com, dns2go.com, no-ip.org, and so on. You can see at the Napigator servers listing (http://www.napigator.com/servers/) what people are using. All those servers on that page are running on the home computers of people. By using the dynamic dns service, you are able to continually connect to their servers even when their IP addresses change.

Dialup users get a new IP address every time they reconnect. You can see your IP address here:

This old thread went from wired-->tired-->expired

Beejus doesn't come around much anymore, and when he does, he rarely answers the queries of other members.

I moved the thread to the public forum because it is no longer 31337.
