Currently vBulletin is offering versions 2.3, 3.0 and 3.5. Here are some of the features that vBulletin 3.5 has for the usergroups Registered and Super Moderators, as compared to the vBulletin 3.0 series. I have put a golden shower on the features which are turned off on this board. I did not put the features for Administrators here in the listing. A more thorough list of features can be found by reading this post (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=972250) at vBulletin.
REGISTERED:
Thread read and forum read markings have three possible settings by the Administrator. This board is set to classic option #1.
1. Inactivity/Cookie Based - once a user has been inactive for a certain amount of time (the value of the cookie timeout option) all threads and forums are considered read. Individual threads are marked as read within a session via cookies.
(This option is how all versions of vBulletin before 3.5 functioned.)
2. Database (no automatic forum marking) - this option uses the database to store thread and forum read times. This allows accurate read markers to be kept indefinitely. However, in order for a forum to be marked read when all threads are read, the user must view the list of threads for that forum.
(This option is more space and processor intensive than inactivity-based marking.)
3. Database (automatic forum marking) - this option is the same as a previous option, but forums are automatically marked as read when the last new thread is read.
(This is the most usable option for end users, but most processor intensive.)
Quick Edit (Quick Reply was introduced in 3.0)

SUPER MODERATORS:
Inline Moderation of posts and threads, with boxes that can be checked off for selected posts and threads, in order to moderate them.
The ability to merge posts
IP address searches include registration IPs
When banning a user, a reason can be given, which the user will see whenever encountering the "no permission" message http://www.3-3-3.org/forum/images/statusicon/wol_nopermission.gif The user will also see the date that the ban will be lifted.
Posts awaiting moderation do not add to a user's post count. Also there is an icon http://www.3-3-3.org/forum/images/misc/moderated_small.gif that one will see within the subforum indicating that there is a thread or a post awaiting moderation, and within the actual thread one will see an even larger icon http://www.3-3-3.org/forum/images/misc/moderated.gif with the post that is awaiting moderation actually displayed along with the rest of the thread posts.
